This airframe was displayed at the Aviadome museum in Schiphol airport during the 2000 season. Temporary attached to the museum building was a curved steelplate shelter containing #J-238, complete with equipment as in a real shelter. As a visitor you got very chocked when the silence suddenly was interrupted when the aircraft started the engine! You could hear the pilot contact the tower for taxi instructions and the aircraft left the shelter, and moments later it took off with afterburner engaged. Very big hidden loudspeakers created the illusion. It was all over in 2-3 minutes and total silence was restored in the shelter. 10 minutes later, new visitors had entered and were ready for the shock! The noise inside a real shelter during start-up by a F-16 in the real world is even much higher, but otherwise it was a perfect illusion created by the museum
