Israel Aerospace Industries to resume production of F-16 wings
Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) will resume the production of F-16 wings for Lockheed Martin, using the assembly line established in the 1980s, following rising demand for the jets.
20 year old NF-16D VISTA redesignated an ‘X’ Plane to test Skyborg
The USAF is currently upgrading a modified version of its F-16 fighters, the NF-16D VISTA, to support autonomy testing for the Air Force Research Laboratory’s (AFRL) Skyborg program. The Air Force Test Pilot School (TPS) redesignated the NF-16D Variable In-flight Simulator Aircraft in June as the X-62A.
First to Fly 2,000 Hours in F-22 Raptor
Lt. Col. Ryan Pelkola, 302d Fighter Squadron director of operations, became the first pilot to reach the 2,000 flight hour achievement in the F-22 Raptor, August 7, 2021.
