Last assignment was 31 'Tiger' Squadron (of which he was CO for a while) at Kleine Brogel. He was forced to stop flying after a serious car accident (back injuries). 2004: Lt.Col. Theys is still in active duty. Despite the fact that he did have a serious car accident with multiple arm and leg fractures, he has returned to flying status. His current assignment is a staff function within the 'Operations & Training Dept' of the Belgian Air Force HQ in Evere (Brussels). On November 8th he became the new base commander of Koksijde AB. |
