Just as winter came to a close on the island of Japan, more than 150 Airmen touched down on the frozen flight line of Eielson Air Force base to take part in this year's RED FLAG 08-2 training exercise in April.
It's not just the roll of the dice; the Shooters are headed for Vegas.
After swapping out F-16s with Kunsan AB, Airmen of the 354th AMXS sheet metal shop wasted no time in painting the newly-received aircraft with a flanker color scheme.

22nd FS welcomes new commander

Lt. Col. Douglas Nikolai assumed command of the 22nd FS from Lt. Col. Matt Chesnutt during a change of command ceremony on March 14, 2008. Colonel Chesnutt, moved on to become the deputy commander of the 52nd Operations Group.

79th FS exercise at Kunsan

An F-16 squadron from South Carolina led a combined large-force exercise at Kunsan AB earlier this month, the first time a squadron stationed outside South Korea has completed the task with American and South Korean jets.
F-16C #83-1165 affectionately known as "Lethal Lady" belonging to the Vermont ANG reached a milestone on Monday. It is the first F-16 airframe to log 7,000 hours of flight time.

Alabama pilots to train in Florida

Spikes graduate first pilots of new year

On Saturday, 13 of the Combat Air Forces newest Viper pilots at Luke AFB, Arizona, will close six months of grueling training and receive their graduation certificates.
Air Force Times reports the first four of a dozen Aggressor F-16s have arrived at Eielson Air Force Base on Sunday to form up as part of the new 18th Aggressor Squadron.

Thunderbirds get a new "1"
