USAF F-16CG crashes over Yugoslavia

NATO lost its second warplane in combat in five weeks of raids on Yugoslavia on Sunday but once again the pilot was picked up just hours later in a dramatic night-time rescue.

Aircraft no. 3 and no. 4 received minor damage as they began their air demonstration during the Air and Space Expo in Florida. Both aircraft landed safely and neither pilot was injured.
Air Combat Command officials released the Aircraft Accident Investigation Report today on the Nov. 9, 1998, crash of an 388th Fighter Wing F-16CG from Hill Air Force Base, Utah.

Israel grounds some F-16s after crash

Israel halted training flights of some of its F-16s in the wake of plane malfunctions in Israel and the United States. Dozens of late model F-16s were ordered grounded after an Israeli pilot ejected from his plane during training on Sunday over what one air force official described as "engine lock".

F-16 looses HARM over Macedonia

A missile fell off a NATO plane participating in air raids against Yugoslavia and exploded in Macedonia on Sunday. NATO sources said the rocket was a HARM air-to-surface missile and that it fell off an F-16 jet.

Israeli F-16 Crashes at Sea

An F-16 crashed at sea last weekend. Fortunately, the crew has been rescued.
The US Air Force suspended all F-16 fighter flights at Luke Air Force Base -- its largest training area for the jets -- after one of the planes crashed in the desert Friday. It was the fifth such accident at Luke since October.

Belgian F-16 crashes during training

Monday evening, a Belgian Air Force F-16 "FA-39" from Florennes crashed during a training mission (air combat) in the neighborhood of Dinant (Belgium).
Air Combat Command officials released the Aircraft Accident Investigation Report today on the Nov. 17, 1998, crash of an Air National Guard F-16C on the Jefferson Proving Ground Range near Madison, Ind.

Belgian F-16 Runs of Runway

On February 25th, a Belgian 2W Tac F-16 (FA-116) crashed on landing. At touch-down the nose wheel turned to the right while the plane was still at a high speed. The nose wheel broke, and the F-16 ran of the runway with his nose in the ground. The pilot is safe but the aircraft is badly damaged.

Air Combat Command has released the Aircraft Accident Investigation Report on the Sept. 1 F-16C crash 25 miles south of Fort Sumner, N. M. The aircraft was from the 523rd Fighter Squadron at the 27th Fighter Wing, Cannon Air Force Base, N. M.

F-16 Crashes in Arizona

A U.S. Air Force F-16 fighter jet crashed in the Arizona desert on Wednesday, and the student pilot survived by parachuting to safety. Student pilot First Lt. Esther Obert ejected from her F-16 as it plummeted to the desert in southwestern Arizona. She parachuted to safety on the sprawling Barry M. Goldwater Range near Gila Bend, Ariz.
An Air Force F-16 from Luke Air Force Base, Ariz., crashed on to at raining range near Yuma, Ariz., just before 10 a. m. Feb 3. The pilot, 1st Lt. Esther Obert, ejected safely.
