RoKAF looks into F-16 claims

South Korea is reviewing documents connected with its purchase of 120 F- 16C/D fighters to determine whether compensation can be claimed from commercial suppliers after the loss of two aircraft within two months of their delivery.
Test pilots and data analysts from Belgium, Denmark, the Netherlands, Norway and the USA have entered the decisive stage in the operational test & evaluation of the F-16A/B Fighting Falcon Mid-Life Update fighter aircraft. "

First FCF Flight For Jordanian F-16

A Jordanian F-16 made its first Functional Check Flight (FCF) on October six. It took of and landed on Hill AFB.
The U.S. Congress has voted to fund three additional Block 50/52 F-16 C/D aircraft in the 1998 budget. The newly funded F-16s will include some of the latest technology enhancements including color multifunctional displays and programmable display generator, a new Modular Mission Computer, a Digital Terrain System, a new color video camera and color triple-deck video recorder to record the pilot's head-up display view, and an upgraded data transfer unit"
The Royal Danish Air Force is suffering from a serious aircrew shortage stemming from a hiring boom by commercial airlines over the last two years.
The Royal Norwegian Air Force has awarded Northrop Grumman's Electronic Sensors and Systems Division a contract to integrate itsAN/AAR-65 imaging ultraviolet missile approach warning system on an F-16 Mid-Life Update aircraft, and to demonstrate its performance.

USAF F-16s increase presence in Bosnia

Two U.S. Air Force F-16 fighter units in Europe stepped up their presence in the skies over Bosnia, the Pentagon announced Sept. 4.
Two wings from Hill Air Force Base joined forces earlier this week to support the Air Force's first no-notice exercise of its Air Expeditionary Force capabilities.
Maj. Erik A. Hutchins, member of the 63rd Fighter Squadron at Luke AFB, Arizona, received the 1996 Semper Viper Award from Lockheed Martin Aeronautics.

Maj. Robert Nolan and Capt. Gerald Swift of the 39th Flight Test Squadron,Eglin AFB, Florida recieve the Semper Viper award.
Two U.S. Air Force policemen were charged with stealing three Pratt and Whitney F100-PW-200 F-16 engines.
