U.A.E crosses Atlantic for Red Flag

The United Arab Emirates air force recently flew a squadron of F-16 Block 60 Desert Falcons across the Atlantic Ocean for the first time to participate in Red Flag 11-2 and strengthen partnerships with allied nations.
Shooting down enemy aircraft over American soil is an event U.S.-based alert pilots train for.
Airforce officials are keeping quiet about a commander with the Alabama Air National Guard who could possibly face charges following an investigation that he had received nearly $96,000 in unauthorized compensatory time and had regularly flown an F-16 on personal trips.
After 17 months of silence, the 33rd Fighter Wing flightline finally roared back to life January 13, 2011.
The mission of the 56th Fighter Wing is to, "Train the world's greatest F-16 fighter pilots and maintainers, while deploying mission ready warfighters."

Fewer Norwegian F-16 scrambles in 2010

The Royal Norwegian Air Force made half as many scrambles to identify Russian aricraft in 2010 compared to the previous year.
Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) will deliver the first new Lockheed Martin F-16's to the Turkish Air Force (TuAF) during March under the Peace Onyx 4 programme.
On October 26, 2010, five pilots from the 176th Fighter Squadron departed the Lockheed Martin factory in Fort Worth, Texas, with five brand-new F-16 Block 52 fighters, bound for Pakistan.
Pakistan received the last five F-16s of a batch of 18 ordered from the United States on December 13th.

Mass F-16 launch to fill skies

The skies around Luke Air Force Base will be busier than normal Wednesday during Cactus Starfighter, a large force exercise for the 310th Fighter Squadron and 310th Aircraft Maintenance Unit. During Cactus Starfighter, the combined efforts of Luke units will launch more than 30 F-16s at one time.

USAF to station F-16s in Poland as of 2013

The U.S. Air Force will station F-16 jet fighters and C-130 Hercules transport aircraft in Poland as of 2013, Polish Defense Minister Bogdan Klich announced on Nov. 18th.
