Blip on radar causes White House evacuation

A "blip" on a radar screen, rather than a plane, sent scores of White House staff and tourists fleeing the executive mansion on Thursday in fear of another Sept. 11-style attack on the U.S. capital.
A small civilian plane violated restricted air space around Washington on Monday around 11:15 a.m., causing a brief security alert at the White House before military jets intercepted it and steered it away.
The Israeli F-16 pilots who carried out the air force raid near Damascus three weeks ago said their bombs caused huge secondary explosions since they scored direct hits on ammunition bunkers.

According to a report in the German Magazine 'Der Spiegel', The Israeli government is drawing up plans to attack Iran's nuclear program. The reports says a special purpose force of the secret service Mossad received the order two months ago to prepare appropriate plans of attack.
Two F-16's were scrambled over Eilat this afternoon after an unidentified civilian aircraft entered Israeli airspace. It appeared that the aircraft, on its way to a neighboring Arab country, strayed from its air lane in Jordanian airspace.

Yesterday, an Israeli F-16 Fighting Falcon dropped a 550-pound laser-guided bomb on a three-story building downtown Gaza City. The bomb targetted Hamas founder Sheik Ahmed Yassin who was holding a meeting in the appartment.
Israeli F-16s buzzed the summer residence of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad early on Aug. 11th, as a warning that Israel holds Damascus responsible for the recent flare-up on its northern border.
A small plane inadvertently ventured into the 30-mile no-fly zone over President Bush's motorcade as the president returned to Philadelphia International Airport on Thursday, officials said. The pilot was taken into custody, then released several hours later.
