Turkish F-16s bomb rebel positions

Turkish F-16s reportedly attacked positions of Kurdish rebels along its rugged border with Iraq on Wednesday, as Turkey's military stepped up its anti-rebel operations.
A total of 8 RNoAF F-16s were scrambled to track 13-14 Russian Tupolev-95 "Bears" for about 10 hours. The first F-16s on QRA took off at 03.00h.

The Turkish Armed Forces' 'Operation Sledgehammer' is well underway in Şırnak. Two Turkish F-16s carried out a patrol flight in the area bordering Iraq.
Two USAF F-16s appear to have inadvertently crossed into Turkish airspace over the border with Iraq, a U.S. Embassy official said today, adding that the incursion was under investigation.
In Iraq, an F-16 Fighting Falcon strafed anti-Iraqi insurgents with 20mm cannon rounds. The insurgents were firing on coalition forces near Basrah.
U.S. Air Force F-16s obliterated three truck-mounted anti-aircraft weapons and killed 10 to 14 al Qaeda operatives near Fallujah on Tuesday May 8, according to the U.S. military.

U.S. Central Command Air Forces officials have released the airpower summary for Feb. 9 and it seems that the F-16 was quite successful in several interventions in Iraq.
