The pilot of an F-16 Fighting Falcon from the 27th Fighter Wing died when his aircraft crashed approximately 50 miles west of the base Sept. 9.
The pilot, Capt. Benton Zettel, 26, from the 522nd Fighter Squadron here, was on a training mission at the time of the crash.
An interim safety investigation board has been convened to investigate.
