October 8, 1997 (by Lieven Dewitte) - Turkish F-16 warplanes on Thursday again bombed PKK positions in northern Iraq, in the latest of an almost daily series of air raids across the border. Turkish security officials said jets from Diyarbakir airbase in southeast Turkey were hitting a PKK camp at Khwakurk, a mountainous district near Iraq's border with Iran, on Thursday morning. The F-16 planes began their sorties into northern Iraq from Diyarbakirat 8 a. m. (0500 GMT)"
