The F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Program hopes to start air-to-air refueling trials this week.

The first F-35 air-to-air refueling trials may happen this week.
According to
Aerospace Daily & Defense Report, the aerial refueling will be performed with the first F-35 test asset, AA-1 using a tanker dedicated to Edwards Air Force Base operations.
On 7 November 2000, the X-35A
#301 took on fuel from a KC-135 tanker for the first time, enabling the aircraft to complete the longest flight to date: 2 hours and 50 minutes.
