September 8, 2006 (by Lieven Dewitte) - Nordam has been chosen as a contractor to make parts for the U.S. Air Force F-16 fighter jets. They will make the leading edge flaps and engine access covers for the Viper
The contract is for 5 years and is expected to be worth more than $15 million dollars.
The Nordam Group recently obtained a license to manufacture and repair bonded and structural components for the US fleet of F-16 s.
That contract included wings, flight-control surfaces, access doors, landing-gear doors, fuselage structures and all related sub-components and gives Nordam access to Lockheed-owned tooling and technical data required to manufacture and repair these structures.
