Thank you for honoring our son.

Darlene Houghton

So sorry for your loss
Pete Mudrow, Sep 30, 2009 - 08:00 PM

I just wanted to say I was so sorry to hear of your loss. I actually live in Layton Utah, where my house is right under the flight path of all Aircraft's leaving Hill Air Force Base. I've always been so jealous of those flying for the Air Force, as I too am a pilot, but my eye sight has only allowed me to fly recreational Air Crafts.

I new something was wrong over this last weekend because I noticed all flights leaving Hill had stopped. I can't even imagine how difficult this all must be the Houghton Family.

My Prayers are with you.

RIP Smack

Smack was a good dude

He was my instructor in T-6 training at Laughlin AFB. Flew my first night ride with him and he made fun of me for telling the tower good night after we landed.

Flew on a x-country with him to Phoenix and what a great trip. I'll never forget we got a little rowdy at the bars around ASU and he pushed me in a fountain. I have that picture and it'll always make me laugh. I think my cell phone shorted out.

Smack was a great fighter pilot and I'll always remember you dude!! God bless and RIP!!

It is soon to be three years since you were taken from us. Three years seem like yesterday - for the sorrow in our hearts is just a real today, the pain just as deep. We Love and Miss You, Mom, Dad, Josie, Patrick, Daniel

We miss you!

G B I can't put into word how much we miss you! My kids talk about their uncle George all the time. It's been three years and I can still hear you laugh, you talking about monster trucks with my kids and kicking my butt in the flight simulator. I know you are with the lord and doing just fine but I wish we could have one more day with you. Love luke, Steph, Daniel, tyler, faith

RIP Black Widow

I never met Captain Houghton. As I recall his call sign was "ICE". In the years since his passing I have been able to socialize with his former squadron mates from the 421st FS Black Widows. Being a former Black Widow (1972-1973, Udorn Era), I can tell you we never forget nor will we ever forget our fallen brethren. On the anniversary of his "going West", we toast him and remember what he brought to our lives through his professionalism and friendship. RIP ICE.
