Get Pilot and friend...
ViperDude, Jun 05, 2009 - 04:19 PM

"Crash" flew many missions with me when I was a Flight Test Engineer out at EAFB, and I considered him one of my friends. He had such a great personality and sense of humor. One of my funniest moments was when he was flying back seat in my aircraft 1176 and he was trying to reach into his pocket for a DTC loadout I printed and gave to him before he stepped and everytime he did the front seater started pulling g's and his hand would get caught in his flight suit. I last saw "Crash" in Washington DC when I ran into him and his wife about 10yrs ago and we all had breakfast together in the Eastern Market. God Bless his family, and may he RIP.

Not just a pilot

I met "crash" only a few weeks before his tragic accident.

"Crash"was getting checked out in a T-33 and I was his crewchief for that weekend.

In those 3 days I was lucky to meet a man that wasn't only a pilot but also became a good friend.

"Crash" has a rich history of flying and he loved to share it with others.

Greg was looking forward to fly the T-33 at the Nellis AFB airshow or better know as aviation nation 2009

Rest in peace my friend

god Bless his family

till we meet again.

Great IP

Crash was my OV-10 IP at Patrick in '86, his CAS instruction was first-rate. One of the best instructors I've ever flown with. Blue skies, friend.

I retired from the USAF in 1991 and got to know CRASH prior that through my job at TEST OPS. I was very fortunate to get a retirement ride in the F-16 and more fortunate to have CRASH as my pilot. During the mission brief we went over the emergency procedures and the mission profile. When we left the mission brief he winked at me knowing that we were going to add extra points to the flight. I was glad to place both feet back on the ground, but will never forget the best roller coaster ride from a great Test Pilot and more important a Great Friend. RIP CRASH....El Ehoke-O

Acton's July 4h parade
Lynne Sickller, Jul 29, 2019 - 11:29 AM

Crash honored Acton's July 4th Parade with flyovers of the F117. After landing at EAFB or Palmdale he came down and road on a float to the end of the parade where he mixed with the local people and signed autographs. He was also the guest speaker for the Acton Chamber of Commerce. Great memories.............A great man and a great friend.

Consumit Pilot and Great Human Being

With him on the controls, I never saw the ball move out of center. Only one other guy, of all the people I have flown with, could do that.

After the War College, he decided to forego any promotion and retire because, as he put it, "I realized it is all politics beyond 0-6 and I did not want to lower myself to their standards."

He had integrity.
