Sergeant Bert van Reenen

14 December 2004

Former RNLAF 315 sq crewchief of J-368 and J-157, and a guy with exceptionally kind qualities.

Bert died on December 14th 2004, very shortly and unexpectedly, 5 weeks after being diagnosed with cancer at the much too young age of 41 years.

Bert is remembered here fondly by the former F-16 community members from 315 squadron in the late eighties and early nineties at Twenthe AB in the Netherlands.

i worked together with Bert for the whole period he was in the airforce, from the initial training untill his farewellparty at 315.

We both had wonderfull years, including the trips to other countries, evenings at the bars, but also the conversations about serious subjects, and the things about the real meanings of life.

Bert we will all miss you!!!!

God must have been looking for the best crewchief in town for 'Angels One', when he took Bert away from us.

Beukenoot', as Bert was also known, is missed on so many ordinary moments in my life after he died two years ago.

I can still hear his grinning chuckle coming up when I think back of the wonderful years in the Airforce, and so many moments in private life we shared as friends with our young families in later years.

If your old friends in the Airforce fly a flypast tribute on your funeral more than 10 years after you left, that's shows how special this guy was!

What a great guy, what a loss.
