I was stationed at Hahn with Chuck. They called him Ajax because he had an abrasive personality. I had no idea he was gone.

Ajax was an exceptional leader, fighter pilot, and weapons officer. I'd have flown with him into combat any day. He may have been a bit abrasive at times, however he expected no more from others than he did from himself, constantly striving to improve the squadron's combat capability with an emphasis on discipline, realistic training, and accountability.

Thank you Ajax, and God speed!

I am lt col Hortons 2nd son. He passed away when I was 14 years old. He has now been gone longer than I knew him in life. I remember him as a great and loving father. Please reach out to me if you knew him in life. I missed the opportunity to know him as a man but would very much appreciate any stories or advice he gave others.

Ajax was a great guy and superb fighter pilot. I knew him from the time he was a 3rd Classman in my cadet squadron until he was the Asst Ops Officer in my fighter squadron. He is missed still. I remember his smile, great attitude and superb knowledge and intellect. The good guys leave us way too soon..l
