I knew Jay at MacDill and his death saddened us all. His memorial service was the first time I ever really knew what the Missing Man formation meant. His squadron mates performed perfectly and there wasn't a dry eye in the house.

I knew Jay Vidt as a crew chief on one of the jets he flew as a member of the 429th Black Falcons of the 474th TFW at Nellis. I also knew his wife from the veteranarien's office she worked at just off base. Good man he was. A fun pilot to be around, always had a joke for the troops.

Jay was a good friend - always ready to jump into whatever fun things Class 84-03 came up with.

Miss you, Jay

Hey ! I didn't hit submit yet! I met Jay while he was at San Diego State, my hubby & he were in the same UPT class in Del Rio & he & Laurie remained friends with us. The world misses Jay still...
