I knew Jay at MacDill and his death saddened us all. His memorial service was the first time I ever really knew what the Missing Man formation meant. His squadron mates performed perfectly and there wasn't a dry eye in the house.

I knew Jay Vidt as a crew chief on one of the jets he flew as a member of the 429th Black Falcons of the 474th TFW at Nellis. I also knew his wife from the veteranarien's office she worked at just off base. Good man he was. A fun pilot to be around, always had a joke for the troops.

Thanks you for the wonderful memories....
Courtney and I miss you everyday.
Love you!
Jay was a good friend - always ready to jump into whatever fun things Class 84-03 came up with.

I was a classmate of Jay's in junior high. He was my best friend. He was funny, kind, and smart. The world will have a bit less color and laughter without him. My God comfort his family.

I worked with Jay before he entered the Air Force. We worked at Marriot's Great America as theatre technicians. I remember when he told us he had been accepted into flight school. He was so proud and excited. My best wishes to his family.

Jay has been on my mind this weekend, enough so that I looked up his legacy on line. I was his employer during his theme park years before he entered the Air Force. I remember him well. I remember him (and Laurie) fondly. Jay was a hardworking, honest, funny, warm, stand-up guy. A truly stand-up guy. We all lost someone quite special.
