Missing Alex
charla, Sep 16, 2009 - 02:23 AM

As Teddy gets married this month and with her graduation just past we are reminded of our loss. But Alex lived with such honorable life that is great solace even in his memory. Even in his absence he has had a enormous impact on our lives. He still feels forever present.

He has motivated Teddy to follow in his footsteps and become an engineer. He would be so proud, not only of his daughter, but of his squadron mates.

Several puppies will make the trip this month. They will give her away and stand by my side. These men, this family has been with us all along offering support and helping us through the tough times.

In our greatest loss our greatest blessing was revealed. I know Alex would be humbled at the generosity they have showered us with, as are we. Puppies forever! Charla Rupp

Hello Charla, It's been a long time and I don't know if you remember me. I was with the 313th from day one of the F16's arrival. I remember teasing you with the "Like Hello" every chance I got. It was a very bad day when I heard about Alex. He was a really good man. I hope things are going well for you. God Bless.

Charla I hope to meet you someday, as well as your daughter. I would appreciate the opportunity to tell you both of many fond memories of Alex. I wish you both the best of futures while cherishing the best of memories of a really great guy and friend. Sincerely, Eric

Alex and I grew up together at Wright Patterson AFB and swam for years on the Flying Fish. Great memories in the water, at the meets and just hanging out together with our friends on base and at his house. Was so happy for him when he went and graduated at USAFA. My dad had the opportunity to work with him in the USAF. we miss you and will never forget.

Hello Charla, this is Robin Bartelson , we met at Zaragoza Spain in 1984 I think. We were roommates and you were so sick with walking pneumonia. I was thinking about you and was able to find you through your husbands name. So sorry to hear of your great loss.

I was the helo pilot that responded to the mishap in July 1987 when I was stationed at Indian Springs, NV. I am so sorry for your loss and have thought often of that day. God bless.
