If you look carefully you will see some of the patches care from all over the fleet! The are patches from the F/A-18 community, amphibious community, and all over.

In my opinion, USAF Vipers must have a movie of their own, much better than "Iron Eagle" that is overly fictional and portrays Israeli Vipers. Lot of flops in it too. "Fighter pilots make movies, bomber pilots make history" according to the Flight of the Intruder. How about strike (or fighter-bomber) pilots? Well, they can do both! Furthermore, why is it that the US Navy has more movie participation (add up the movie The Final Countdown) than the Air Force (I can only recall Red Flag: The Ultimate Game and Afterburner-a story of F-16's deficiency!) ?
Because the Air Force is picky about what movies its name is attached to.The Air Force likes movies that use its name to make sense and be grounded in some basis of reality. So far very few filmakers have the patience, talent, and work ethic to make an aviation movie thats fun to watch that isnt utter trash. |

Yea verily. Lotsa C-17 shots. Spec Ops platforms. Some Hogs, some Vipers (even the NMANG got in on it!). Don't recall any Eagles, tho. Raptors were there, and one of 'em was a Decepticon.
From the af.mil aritcle:*
Along with the F-22s, F-117 Nighthawks and the CV-22 Osprey are featured prominently throughout the movie. Also featured are the A-10 Thunderbolt II, C-17 Globemaster III, MH-53 Pave Low, HH-53 Super Jolly Green Giant, AC-130 Gunship, C-130 Hercules, MQ-1 Predator unmanned aerial vehicle and Air Force One.
*This piece was published before the film was released, so some jets listed may have gotten edited out of the final cut. |

Acurrate like the John Wayne movie Jet Pilot?
There have been plenty of USAF participation in movies.
The Navy was smarter about the recruiting opportunity that "Top Gun" represented. |
