| So many awful images coming from Japan - those birds got off relatively lightly! |

| Those aircraft can be fixed. As for the rest of Japan, I'm not so sure. |

BTW, news articles mention a minor detail: some ordnance on or near the fighters, such as missiles, are missing.
BTW^2, maybe this act of God might motivate this site to scramble up a F-2 photo gallery?
(Dream on, dudes.) |

Gamera, that's not a very nice attitude. Besides we've had an F-2 photo gallery since before you even joined the forum.
- <a href="http://www.f-16.net/gallery_item17159.html">F-2 photo gallery</a>
- <a href="http://www.f-16.net/gallery_item132137.html">F-2 patches</A>
And if you wonder about a serial database. We had some technical issues that we needed to overcome first and we will hopefully release it some time in the future.[/list] |

Roger.
I mixed up the photo gallery feature and the serial number database feature. 8(

| Ah, thought so, but we really do want an F-2 database also. |

So Disco, these can be fixed? A photo I saw suggested the fighters where NOT fully submerged. How would the turbines fare? I know boat jets get a fare dose but are their turbines composed of slightly different metals?
Would these fighters potentially turn into problem jets in the future? |

Read about this aircraft called "Twice as Nice" (79-0377) and take a look at the picture that clearly shows the aircraft upside down and with the front half of the fuselage completely broken off. This aircraft was involved in two major accidents and had to be rebuilt twice and is currently FLYING with the Israeli Air Force. If this bird can be fixed, I'm fairly certain water damaged F-2s can be repaired. I'm not talking about unit level maintenance, I'm talking about depot level.
Sometimes when aircraft systems designers integrate various components into an airframe they forget to examine what happens if a component should fail. Such was the case in the original F-16 design. An electrical connector.
