| Is this a separate incident or duplicate of the accident cited from 27 APRIL 2010? |

| Separate incidents on separate dates. At first glance, I also thought they are the same, but I read them again: one was at Gifu, and one was at Misawa. |

| Thanks for the reply. Makes me wonder if they have a pilot training issue. Makes one wonder when the pilots in question were trained and by whom... |

Photo of one of two Russian AF Tu-160s intercepted by JASDF F-2s scambled from Misawa AB, Aomori Prefecture, on 10 June 2010.
#6 is nicknamed "Iriya Murometsu".
#16 is nicknamed "Arekusei Purohofu".
On the tail fin is (figuratively) "BBC POCCNN".
Anyone here has the proper spellings of the nicknames? |

2010.07.30:
JASDF accident reports for F-2 at Gifu AB on 2010.04.26, and F-2 at Misawa AB on 2010.04.27.
At Gifu, after F-2 landed, landing gear handle was probably at down position, and F-2 stopped when handle was in the middle position of outputting landing gear up signal.
When front pilot started engine, landing gear began to operate up, and F-2 squatted.
At Misawa, when pilot started engine, landing gear was at down position, but landing gear selector valve that toggled landing gear down and up, formed hydraulic path for landing gear up.
Landing gear began to operate up, and F-2 squatted. |

24 August 2010:
F-2B.
4th Koukuudan, JASDF, based at Matsushima AB, Higashi Matsushima City, Miyagi Prefecture.
9:55, after training and after landing, while moving 10 km/h on taxiway, front and left and right landing gear retracted. Centre fuel tank collided taxiway surface, and slanted on left wing.
Damaged left wing.
Two pilots not wounded.
Front seat was trainee pilot. First Lieutenant (25).
Rear seat was instructor pilot. Major (38).
After similar F-2 accidents in 2010 April, before and during engine start, insert safety pins to landing gear legs.

| Isn't that about a half dozen of those landing gear accidents in the past few years? |

| I think this 24 August 2010 one is the third known F-2 landing gear retracting accident of this year. |
