Upperheyford was commonly called "Upper Hemroid", and Lakenheath was referred to as "Lakengrief".

Some people have referred to Shaw as an accronym for "Sharing Husbands And Wives", also "Stay Here A While"

Eielson at some point was called "Eskimo Air Force Base" and "Little Sun AFB" recently

Sheppard AFB, Also known as "Shitturd AFB"

Hope that keeps this going, I like reading this

Meathook,

When were you at VietHahn? I was a Lucky Puppy back in the late 80's until we put the padlock on the front gate in late 1991.

When I was in Germany in the early 80's Bitburg was called "the bush" and Spangdahlem was 'the rock".

SMS Tom Thornton, was my Superintendent (then), then about a year and a half later, SMS John Seiago (spelling, ex - weapons guy, was my boss in the MOC with Captain Wetekam, who is now a Two Star).

Did you ever meet (know) a Capt Glenda Flick (she was ex-enlisted), her hubby was a Maintenance Supervision Chief (Flick - real old looking dude)...we always wondered how they hooked up and nobody ever complained..officer and enlisted thing and all..but they got away with it back then.

Strange times but fun...you there when a maintenance guy hung himself in front of his kids (from a bunk bed) because "mom" was stepping out on him with a "brother" (bad racial thing then). Man, everybody was shocked the guy took his own life in front of his kids...you ever hear about that?

It was Happy Hahn alright, crazy Hahn is more like it....but there were lots of fun times too, just that the bad seemed to get more attention. Col Wright was the DCM when I was there towards the end of my tour...ever meet him, a real bullie at meetings but he had his sh*t together really.

I wonder if we ever met there, I went to Ramstein countless times for one reason or another...how about you, ever go to the "Stein"?

Killian sound familiar but I don't remember him

I worked for "AGGIE" 496TH,86-90, I actually liked the man, you always knew where you stood with, A real straight shooter, But don't cross the man. He could be meaner than a rattler......

But, oh yea, back to the topic. We called Kadena "The rock" Or "Okinowhere"

Also, at Luke, they use to say it was hell, but I would tell them It's not hell, but you can see It from the flightline.
