Who knows? The winner from the Barça-Chelsea tie could go on to face Manchester Uni....oops...no, not this year. Sorry snypa!!
PAT1, was hoping no-one would mention that!!!! Even ASIF was gracious enough not to! Left myself open for that didn`t I You know more about it than you are letting on!!!!
By the way, did i mention that an American now owns Manchester United? A guy called Malcolm Glazer....A funny story of a guy with huge debts, gets a huge loan for £265 million from a bank, puts United up as collateral and we have no money to buy new players!!! Thank you America!!!! He paid a total of £790 million pounds for the club that was THE richest football club in the world.
He owns the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as well.
Raptorman, Tim Howard is an American goalkeeper who plays for us, with tourets. Come to think of it, there were or are a few American keepers playing over here, Kasey Keller, Brad Friedal, still playing, and quite a few outfield players as well. United have an outstanding young American born Italian called Giuseppe Rossi, a striker. |

Snypa, I've been a Barcelona fan since I was microscopic. It was tough when everyone around you is a Real Mandrill...err...Madrid fan! Either way, by early March I expect to be Asif! Otherwise, I don't think I'll have the courage to show my face around this topic! |

OOOH! The Man-ape jibe! That`s a good one! I have some close friends from Barca` . Barcelona is my second team I know all about that Catalan/Madrid intense DISLIKE! That`s the only way to put it! I travel to Barcelona quite often to stay with friends and they are ALWAYS on about getting autonomy for the Catalan's, they may actually get that now... of a sort. I made the mistake once of suggesting that they spoke Spanish!
Barca` want REVENGE for last season over Chelski. badly! My friends think that they were unjustly dumped out of the comp`!. Can`t wait for that game. |

NASCAR is NASCRAP, and it's only for redneck ****. It's not even racing. There is not much skill involved, the cars a rudimentary and highly unrefined, their dynamics are horrible, and each race is put on with the same hokiness as a reunion convention of Elvis impersonators.
But it's a big money maker in this country, because 2/3 of it is redneck ****. Not that I'm bitter or anything.
I'm sorry, but I just can't live with this statement.
First off, it isn't totally a redneck sport (though, I'm sure some rednecks do watch it, but the rest watch truck racing.) Many assume that if it's American racing, that it's redneck racing, like drag racing. That's just wrong in my opinion, though in some cases it's true.
Second, it does take alot of skill to drive a car going 170+MPH into a corner with a car like 5 inches in front of/behind of/next to you and controlling your car from going sideways at the same time. Also, going 200mph at places like Talledega, draft plays a HUGE role in determining 1st place from 43rd. NASCAR also has some of the best finishes in racing, some determined in the thousandths of seconds, or by a bumper. They don't always race in ovals either, sometimes the races are held at road tracks like Watkins Glen.
Granted, it does get a little boring watching the cars go 'round and 'round in an oval 300-500 times for like 4 hours, but that would be different if you have a favorite driver. At that point races seem to be too short (At least for me ).
If anyone here still thinks NASCAR driving doesn't take any skill, you might wish to check out this link: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2005/writers/lars_anderson/06/24/nascar.f1/
I LOVE NASCAR! |

How so. Your friends seem to forget the idea is to score more goals than the other side to win. They had 2 separate games [Attempts, chances, what ever!] to do it in and blew it! A unjust decision my eye! |

ASIF, even as a Man U fan I totally agree with you! That is just the Catalan spirit! I am NOT going to disagree with a bar full of Catalans and MAD Barca` fans for fear of getting filled in! |

Just the frustration of a really close tie that could have gone either way until the last moments of the second leg (IMO) At least it was worth seeing Mourinho's reaction after the first leg!! |

Basketball: Golden State Warriors
Baseball: A's but not a big baseball fan in general.

Love soccer only cuz it's the only sport I ever played in a league, but I don't watch too much of it.

Yeah, probably, now with Damon with the Yankees and all that jazz, it probably won't happen for the Red Sox this year. Or the next... but oh, well - I'm still hopeful. |
