IMHO it has to be (like Peter) my first love: The Starfighter! I've never had the opportunity to even SEE one in person but since my parents got me the Revell kit it has always been my favorite. Followed closely by the RA-5C. |

The prettiest view of an airplane ever is a clean F-106 coming at you head-on at low level with the burner blazing! Wish I had a pic of it. All you see is the droopy nose, two huge intakes, and a huge plume of heat waves blasting out the back of the jet as it comes screaming by! If that doesn't affect you, nothing will.
To this day, she is STILL the fastest single-engine airplane ever to fly! |

| The F-15 has always looked really graceful flying to me, very effortless looking. |

Hello Y'all! Long time no see. No, it was not out of sight out of mind, just a lot of developments going on in my life demanding my attention. Glad to see that this thread is still going strong...
Here are my 50 cents again... |

Have to go with my all time favorite:
Somewhat biased though. My Dad was a crew chief at Andrews AFB when the 4th FIG scrambled the first Sabres to Korea. Dad wound up in Japan doing all of their overhauls(he had TOO much fun there! ). The first ones there looked the best- sort of reverse WWII invasion stripes, better than those orangy yellow bands they had later on. |
