Both aircraft are hand-painted seperately (two complete renderings including background). I masked them (got rid of their backgrounds) in P'shop for this image. The background is made in the TerraGen landscape building program. I digitally painted the Saguaro cactus, put both aircraft in the image and edited the whole thing in P'shop. If I would do it completely analogue it would take five times longer. Take a look at my little site http://spaces.msn.com/members/painter40

Yeah, but to me, it depends on the certain angle (I prefered the first "Bird of Prey" photo that I posted). But none the less, I believe it would still have been an interesting 1:48 scale model... |

Ah, the Delta planform, always pleasing to the eye. Good choice. Since we're into the deltas now: one of my all time favorites is the Mirage III/V series and most of all what the Israelis did in terms of marrying the Mirage with the Phantom engine: the Kfir...

That's a great picture of the Kfir... I really like it, but talking about Mirage, I have to say that I like the F-1.. I think that it's really a great fighter..

The F1 looks nice but a bit too conventional for me, I still think that the Lippisch deltas are Dassault's greatest achievement. Saw the Swiss Mirage IIIS's at the end of their career when visiting Axalp, awesome, bearing in mind they were Sixties vintage! No matter from what angle you look, the Mirage delta is absolutely sexy. The F1 appears to me as a Jack of all trades, master of none but hey, maybe someone can enlighten me...

I think for me its the TSR-2, an aircraft far ahead of its time and anything else out there... both nato or russian.... but due to funding it was cancelled

Now that was a great plane! Did its job better than the F-111, which the British bought and passed on to the Aussies. Twice taxpayer's money down the drain. The RAF ended up with the F-4...

Personaly I always liked the Hornet legacy but now i love the Super Hornet. Sorry to all the Tomcat fans out there but the Tomcat is over-rated from my point of view.

Well, I can see where you come from. In its own time, however, the F-14 was absolutely not over-rated... But since I'm also a twin tail fan the Super Hornet does well it the beauty department... On another note, some aircraft are so ugly that they become beutyful. Once you get to know them you learn to appreciate them. For instance the BAe Hawk, a small fat trainer at first, now developed into a capable second line defender in its own right. Or the 50's design Buccaneer. That was the very first mature attack jet in the traditon of 'fly low, hit hard'. Long before the F-111's and Tornadoes. You gotta respect that...
