Looks like you'll have some fun with that one ! Still have the old Porsche?
I still miss my favorite car which was taken from me by the forces of inexperienced teenage driving - someone crashed into me and totalled out my 88 IROC-Z .
I will have another ! |

Nope sold it last year and I wish I had not sold it now, I miss that power and the "looks" it got.
This should be a fun project, I love restoring these little cars, brings back fond memories of me driving around Europe in the early seventies and eighties.
I always had sports cars back then. There was nothing like driving through the Brenner Pass from Austria into Italy, down into Monaco, through France staying at local B&B's (bed and breakfast)...I just fell in love with the view and time on my own (enjoying the views and local wines with my wife).
I know what you mean, I used to have a 280Z Turbo back in late 88 to 91, ran like a bat outta hell, it was Beige, T-Top...man, what a sweet ride that was...sold it before going back to the UK my last PCS.
Find another car like that for yourself, relive that dream again, fun stuff for sure. |

| I decided to buy this (Saab 9-3 SE Convertible - Turbo) too, fun car, good gas mileage, now I'll be able to take my time restoring the "B", then sell it when finished. |

I guess I'm just an old gearhead. I just love the lines of the 69 Camaro (SS of course).
My opinion, It's the cleanest car known to man. (That should get everyone cussing me) |

| No, I would agree, the 69 does have nice lines, the older muscle cars can never be copied, they ruled - they turned allot of boys into men and men into boys again....! |

Meathook,
Saab - born from jets and built by GM ! Cool stuff. I just hope any valets you hand it over to know that the key goes in the center console !
Tim,
Love the looks of the 69 Camaro myself and I'd happily take a 69 RS SS Z-28 or COPO car ! Of course, I'll also take just about any 63 to 73 Stingray, too . |

I was reading the original "sticker" that was still in the car, 35% assembled in Sweden, 25% made in Germany, the rest...well... you nailed it, USA and Finland to my surprise.
Thanks |

If you buy a new Saab, get the Saabaru.
Somehow i can't bring myself to call it a Saab if it is not a hatchback.
I have one of the old 900 turbo's still accelerates uphill while in 5th.
I need to work on some of the wiring though, them swedes have some odd ideas about how to wire a car.
Does the "B" use the A series engine? |

Four banger (SU Carb) W/ Air Pump (cuts HP), very little "horse" but fun too drive around with the top down, wind and bugs in your hair..I have had it to 90 but I knew I was pushing the old girl...I had forgotten how small they really were, but I guess I was much smaller thirty years ago too.
Yep the older 900's kicked a$$, nice power and handling I always thought. |

Meathook,
If I had $4,000 I'd be up there ASAP to pick her up ! Of course, I'd be awefully torn between that and a T-Top IROC as both have fond memories attached .
Back a few years ago, my best friend's dad had a '77 MGB that we took all over the place. Fun times working on it, but at least she'd gotten the wiring figured out by then . For a while she had to hold two wires together to get the headlights to stay on while driving to school - said it tingled and made her hair stand up a bit
I'll keep saving up for something fun . |
