Mad,

That looks more like the old NATF concept than the proposed FB-22.

It's not even real. It's fan art.

I can see that. Key words: "looks more like..."

I'd rather see a stretched and swing wing F-22 that is optimized for stealth in swept position and cruise in straight wing form than revive the F-23.

Cruising with wings extended, the design would light up a PRC bistatic blob detector from a gazillion miles away where YF-23 might not show itself.

Just taking a break and burying the recent spam.

Original YF-23 could only hold 3 AIM-120As. With the new launcher set-up that should increase the number to 8 according to those patent pics.

I did a "fit check" on the actual unclassified F-23A drawings and they show that the jet could hold 6 slammers in the main bay and clear the door, actuators etc. A GBU-31 will fit too but I doubt you could add in any missiles at the same time in the main bay.

Dangit, these last little bits of news we've gotten on the new bomber lately have me hoping to see more bomber news each time I come back to this forum now. I want to see pictures of it, I want to see announcements of its specifications, I want to see articles about the test flights, I want to see analysis about the difference between the plane's manned and unmanned missions, I want to see Air Force bigshots discussing the tactical & strategic implications of its abilities, I want to see program cost updates in comparison to where other plane development programs have been at comparable times/stages... I didn't have much interest in bombers before but now this one might be more exciting than the fighters are!
