It was amazing, woke up this morning and the sun still rose. I was able to do what I love during the day and I expect it will be pretty much the same tomorrow.
This country is great because there is more than just one opinion and more than one way to do something.
Everything changes and that is neither good nor bad, its just change. |

With you word for word F16guy!
Again, let me assure everyone that this is temporary. Since Obama is my new boss, I can't really tell you anything other than, I will support him, and I'm willing to give him a chance. If I don't like it in 4 years, then you know what I'll be doing in November of 2012.
Republicans will come back into power one day. But right now, it's time for the bad blood to end, and 8 years worth of tempers to cool. Seriously, did anyone who was alive and at the age of reason in 1974 ever think a Republican would again sit in the Oval Office? Probably not. But what happened? Ford served out Nixon's second term, lost to Carter in '76, but by 1980, people were sick of the Democrats, and voted Carter out.
Reagan was not only elected, but was re-elected in the biggest landslide victory in U.S. Presidential history. Then, Bush Sr. served a term on top of that. 12 straight years of Republican presidents after only 4 years down.
Remember, not every president serves 8 years. We've just happened to have 16 straight years of two 2-term presidents.
I think the American public will be much harder on the next couple of presidents, because we want to see 4 years of results, not 8 years of corruption, scandals, and stupidity. |

well said, TC. I think the public is going to want results these next four years. Obama's made a lot of promises, and if he doesn't live up to them, he's not going to be anything but a one-and-done POTUS.
I just hope he doesn't get too wrapped up in his own hype and works with the Congress to realize his goals. I still think we may be in the same kind of mess in tow years, and then he's going to have to work his six off to get himself reelected. As long as he keeps the stars out of his eyes and gets the wings level on thiold bird, he may have a chance. I just hope he doesn't flop and take us with him. |

You mean the president that left office with a budget surplus?
Do you really believe there was a surplus? You don’t think maybe he just cooked the books to make it look like the debt disappeared and there was a surplus? You don’t think Clinton started counting loans like US bonds issued as income, and now count the debt ( the fact the bonds have to be paid back). You don’t think Clinton use some fuzzy math and fancy pen work with the columns?
Some of Obama’s staff cook the books in a similar way at Fannie and Freddie, to make their golden parachutes/bonuses bigger, it was much like a pyramid scheme, they cooked the books to make the company look more profitable, so more people invested in the company which made it look more prosperous. Etc…. but eventually people can start seeing through the illusion, and eventually it leads to collapse. Did these people get their golden parachutes. Yes. Did these people get prosecuted? No. Did these people get punished. Not really, on the contrary they were given money power and fame because they were hired to advise Obama. That’s right, the same people that bankrupt the US banking industry and has rippled around the world financially; are advising Obama. Apparently Obama is planning to make the debt magically disappear by cooking the books again.
Fed up with the Fed (inflation) (cooked books)

Though I think the Democrats are the biggest part of the problem, there is little doubt that Bush and Republicans have tried to cook the books. Its nonpartisan corruption, cooking the books, pork and tax and spend is bankrupting this country. I don’t think the Fed is the only organization that is cooking the books. I think almost every governmental organization and almost every organization associated with it is cooking the books. Regrettably now it looks like major companies are cooking the books.
We are heading for a big train wreck that could make the Great Depression look like a picnic if we don‘t fix it. |

Had a friend e mail me a new sticker to put over the top of the old 'W' bumper sticker. Not that I had one as I don't believe in bumper stickers, since I don't want someone to figure out my IQ by looking at my car. But it is funny none the less.
wow, turned out much larger than I thought. Oh well. |

The only bumper sticker I ever put on my car was “Ollie North for president”.
I admired his “apparent” loyalty. I think he fell on his sword to protect Reagan and our country.
It was just a joke. It was funny the anger, the debates and the laughter and conversations that bumper sticker started. The Liberals kept on taking the bumper sticker seriously and trying to lecture me. Sometimes I (and sometimes my friends) played along as if I (we) didn’t know any better. |

Buffett has always been a big fan of the military and he doesn't like interference in his life Oh yeah, he's got a fleet of airplanes, is a rated pilot in all of them, sails boats, and is a gun owner

I agree, with words like these, how bad could it get?
We're gypsies in the palace, he's left us here alone
The order of the sleepless knights will now assume the throne
We ain't got no money, we ain't got no right
But we're gypsies in the palace, we got it all tonight
There's damsels in distress out there and we got all this beer
We'll free them from their condos and bring 'em over here
We'll show them his gold records
We'll play his music loud
We'll party just like bubba does
We'll do the old man proud |
