O yea.....60,s to the 90,s. the louder the better...hang on a minute, let me turn up my hearing aid so I don't miss anything
OH...I'll tell ya what I hate too....I flat out HATE Rap Music and the head spinning thing but some of those folks are definitely athletic with those moves, flips and stuff, other then the hand and finger nonsense waving, sideway hats, monster jewelry and such,,,gangsters many of them but that's just me.
LIFER I guess... |

Aside from Dos Gringos, it's a pretty mixed bag. Lots of Buffett (see my screen name) , rock, and country. I grew up going to concerts with the family at the San Diego Wild Animal Park, so there's some Mommas and the Poppas (no Momma Cass), Dick Dale and the Del Tones, Jan and Dean, Letterman, Smothers Brothers, Roy Orbison, Kingston Trio, Charlie Daniels, the list goes on...
My brother's 13 years older than me (and I'm 30 ) so that's where the Rolling Stones, CSN and sometimes Y, Aerosmith, and a few others come in....
My sister's 9 years older than me which is why I learned to listen to Prince, Lita Ford, Duran Duran, and a whole bunch more...
And then there's all the friends over the years along with the radio which is where the Pink Floyd, Roger Waters, Frank Sinatra, Willie Nelson, big band, Blessid Union of Souls, Nickelback, Radio Head, Alice Cooper, New Order, Quiet Riot, Sammy Hagar, Kenny Chesney, STP, and all sorts of others come in...
Some people ask me how I got to be a Parrothead (AKA Jimmy Buffett fan). Mostly it started with being so Foxtrotting stressed out in the car business, then I found out that he's an aviation freak like me, but he has the money for biplanes and seaplanes (JERK !), and then I read a couple of his books and found that I really like his writing style .
Oh yeah, the tailgate parties and concerts are not to be believed - great stuff ! The fan clubs are great charity fundraisers, too . The San Diego Parrot Head Club has an anniversary party every year to raise money for charity. It's held at a campground and for the $20 admission fee, you get 12 hours of GOOD live local music, there's a silent auction, and a cool raffle, too. Oh yeah - the price of admission also includes
ALL YOU CAN DRINK BEER, WINE AND SODA ALL DAY LONG !!!
Great to read about everyone else, too - keep 'em comin' ! |

Yep, some of it is very cool and you got to have skills to pull some of that stuff off (I recognize that) but it is just not for me.
I guess it just creates a bad influence I'd rather not have my kids get into. If that makes me bad or narrow minded...so be it, I'll live with it. Guess I grew up somewhere along the way or at least I like to think so. |

| If i had kids i would let them go near the crap!!! If you ask me it is teaching them all the wrong stuff. Making them go towards gangs, drugs and crap like that. |

| I agree....when I hold or play with my grandchildren now, I think...how can I protect them from those types of things and people that just love to start trouble....I think I have become even more protective now then ever. |
