Cannon had 'CC' on the tail--short for Cannon Command. Nellis is the 'Show-me base'. I've heard people call Osan, 'Club Med'.

The one that gets me is some have referred to 'Spang' as 'Spangquiten'. I'd give my supervisor's left nut for an assignment there.

The 'lick' for Incerlick. We used to call Zaragoza 'Zab' when we were at TJ.

Also I have heard Hahn AB referred too as "Happy Hahn" which meant the complete opposite due to the sheer amount of exercises and deployments we dealt with...etc, etc, etc...

Nellis (Vegas) was loving called "Loss Wages" from time to time....

"Mountain Hole" (was another I heard)....you guys are making me think now Smile

"PI" for Clark AB (Phillippines)... "Rocket City" for Danang, Vietnam (I'll never forget that one)...

The "Stein", I heard that often for Ramstein AB, Germany

"Sleepy Hallow" used to Aviano AB, Italy (back in the 70's)...there are lots more... gotta think

Good idea to remember and name them

OH....of course The "Heath" for RAF Lakenheath, UK

"Bentover" for RAF Bentwaters UK (again 70's expression)

Whenever we flew into Richards-Gebauer AFB (Kansas City, MO) we would call it "Dickie Goober".
