I just can't believe that someone has not asked the question "Where were you when we went back into Iraq"?
I thought it would be the first thing I'd find here.
So, I pose the questions. Where were you four years ago? and What have you been doing since then? |

| i was a freshman in college. i had just came back from class and walked into my buddies room and saw the bombs dropping over baghdad. spent the rest of the day drinking beer and watching the news. since then, tried to transfer schools but, transfer papers didnt work out like i thought so no more college the next semester, so why not join the military? i love what i do and think i made a better person out of myself by joining then staying in college. |

| Swing Shift @ Aviano listening to the first strikes on AFN radio. Rumor was, the 555th had deployment orders ready to go, but they never gave the call. We were told to live out of suitcases at our homes for about a month. I feel left out. |

| I was at home watching the first missiles hit on CNN. BTW it was 03, not 02, guessing it was just a typo though. |

| Working in the Joint Movement Center at EUCOM Headquarters (Stuttgart), patiently waiting for the Turks to approve our half of the operation. We had the 4th ID as well as a gazillion other pieces waiting for the go call.never happened of course as the Turks backed out, so we sat that one out. |

| Sitting in the Command Post at Osan AB Korea - supposed to be participating in an ORE...... but in reality was looking at the ATO for the 1st strikes in TBMCS. WG/CC was looking too, he made sure the TV was on 5 minutes before CNN broke in with the "Breaking News". |

I was in the crew chief shack at Al Jaber. Saw the first strikes on FOX while a few of our jets were "somewhere else" over Iraq.
We had dropped plenty of ordnance in Iraq already (OSW) "softening" up the playing field for the big show...
It was pretty cool to know what was goin' on bettter than most, just couldn't tell anyone!! |

| That is very true, it is a cool feeling (least I think so) makes you feel part of something special (as you are), even if it is only for a little while, then the work really begins after the first strike.... |

| Prince Sultan air base, Saudi Arabia. Like blk40crewdawg said, It was just another day of round the clock turning jets until we went into the shack for a break and saw the strikes on TV. |
