A very interesting article about our hard working C-130E model maintainers. As some of you know the E is our oldest and most tired C-130 airframe. Some Es are hugely famous for the number of campaigns (Vietnam War era etc. ) they have fought in. Certainly other versions saw a lot but some of the Es have a quantity of fame that is fascinating. Yes the planes aren't living objects, but kind of sad something has to end it's "career" as some of these airframes do. Crying or Very sad

Ouch, we have H's and those are old enough.

And let me guess...the air force, in its infinate wisdom, will soon come to Ramstien and tell those maintainers that although they're working 60+ hours a week, they are overmanned. Furthermore, although they're trying to cut flying hours to pay for other stuff, they'll continue to beat the hell out of those 130's, and crap on the maintainers for not being able to produce sorties. I love the logic. I am especially interested in articles like this since I'll be a regular crew member on MC-130E's, some of the oldest E models, which also spend most of their lives at high speed and low level where they get beat up even more than the run-of-the-mill E model. I can hardly wait Smile
