| The boob flop has had far reaching effects now. The FCC has clamped down on everything, and now Clear Channel has pulled Howard Stern from many of its affiliates. The most popular rock station here in LA has pulled a weekly, factualy sexual information show from their morning lineup that they've done for 5 years without nary a complaint. |

Clear Channel (CC) will be the end of progressive radio in this country. IMO it is already dead.
I have been told that a/the CC DJ literally programs his entire slots hours/days/weeks ahead. The DJ says a few words into the mic, programs in the CD track(s) to be played, says a few more words, programs a few commercial tracks, says a few more words, programs a few more tracks, saves the whole sequence off to computer then the scheduler 'replays' it at the scheduled time. I don't know if that is true but the technology certainly exists. I don't waste my time listening to CC to find out. It Is All Crap. |

| Thank God for XM radio. Cuts out these greedy corporate big wigs, well...all except the ones who are on the satellite radio bandwagon. But get this: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (yeah I like saying it the long way folks) 365 days a year, non-stop of whatever type music/broadcasting you like. I get it all. I get my Classic Rock fix, 80s New Wave, Hard Rock, and even some Cuban Salsa music. Heck, not only can I listen to NASCAR on Sundays, I can hit a certain XM channel, and listen to my favorite drivers' cockpit and crew radios! I don't live in LA, but you know what? I can get the Lakers broadcast, even if they aren't scheduled on tv that night. It's great! FM sux. It's deader than fried chicken and Clear Channel knows it. They'll be dead themselves one of these days. |

| I just listen to internet radio-Radio Netscape-it used to be called Spinner, but Netscape bought them out, and it's an excellent web radio service. |
