| What do you think, which aerobatic team is the best and why that's one not the other ? |

Hard to answer that one (I think you know that) each person has their favorites, on any given day, they all perform well and excite us all...I am just glad they all exist.
Some appear a bit more "daring that the other" but all are good (highly skilled) in my book! |

As Meathook (lol 1234 posts for Meat' as well), it's hard to say the "best of the best". It seems to me that there are two different "schools" of displays. One is the american one and the other is the european one.
The american one focuses on precision flying with many individual "tricks" from a small team (examples of course the Tbirds and Blue Angels, all of which have 4-5 aircraft on their programme). In contrast, the european one focuses on co-ordinated flying of big groups of aircraft with "tricks" happening always inside small groups (examples are the Red Arrows and Frecce Tricolori with something like a dozen or so of aircraft in their programme).
I have seen the Red Arrows and Frecce Tricolori (being in Europe), and out of the two I'd pick the Reds. Although from what I've heard the italians were very "cold" the day I saw them. |

| I agree, we need to love them all, I am sure the Italians have slightly changed their flying and attitude since their terrible accident back in 1988 at Ramstein, Germany..tragic day for all "demo teams" and the aviation enthusiast, many were killed (friends of mine too). As amazing as these teams make the flying look, it was a grim reminder, it is very dangerous ..I love them all. |

I love them all too
By the way, If we are talking about tragic accidents we can't forget about the latest one in Lviv, Ukraine four years ago where an overloaded Su-27 with poorly skilled crew smash into the crowd and killed many people.
It wasn't happy day for me. |

| No..I am sure it wasn't ...it was very tragic to say the least, we all seem to forget I think that these things are possible all the time, makes me respect those flying skills big time. |

After seeing the Blue Angels many times and seeing the Thunderbirds two years in a row, I'd have to say that they're both spectacular performers !
Each team seems to have its own flavor - by design. The Thunderbirds seem to be more about "showing the flag" in the heartland while the Blue Angels focus more on Naval Aviation with some of their maneuvers.
The past two years, I've thought the Thunderbirds had the Blue Angels beat, but that could also be due to the sometimes nasty weather conditions at Miramar (ugh - rain ! ) that seemed to change dramatically during the show.
I'd like to extend a great big THANK YOU to all the demo team members - gound crew, media reps, pilots and all for thier dedication and the sacrifices they make to be on the teams ! Let's not foget that they don't get any extra pay for what they do, they spend massive time away from their families, work longer hours than most in thier fields (neither T-Birds nor Blues have cancelled a show due to maintenance difficulties), and go back to the line units and fleet when they're done.
This one's for you ! |

Does Thunderbirds use something background music during their display - I'm asking because I've never saw them. |

| Well for this weekend it's going to have to be the Blues, since we are having an airshow and they are the headliner. In fact tomorrow morning I am going up to refuel with them on there way here. It should be the first good test for my new digital camera. I also like the Red Arrows alot also. They spend every spring in Moron Spain getting ready for the season, and I spent the spring of 2002 there watching them everyday. And since all of their jets are 2 seaters they gave quite a few rides to guys from my unit, but of course my name never got plucked out of the hat. I did however get to participate in a flyover with the Red Arrows all trailing behing me in the KC-135. I got some pretty decent pictures of that, and if you google "Red arrows + Kc-135" you will see a shot from the flyover. |

Yes..background music is used but sometimes hard to hear due to jet noise, but it is used for the T-Birds.
Parrothead - Thanks for the kind words of support, your right, many forget the things you mentioned but thanks, it was "our" pleasure and chance of a lifetime too. |

This is my national aerobatic team 'Biało Czerwone Iskry' - which means RED WHITE SPARKS. They're flying on TS-11 Spark, a light school-training aircraft which major role right now is training pilots in Polish Air Force.
TS-11 Spark is quite fully polish construction from early 60'
They're really great...

| I wouldn't say theyre the best team out there, but having seeing the RCAF Snowbirds twice now, I would have to say I was pretty impressed given the aircraft that they fly, definitely worth seeing for sure |
