Just to keep the rumors from getting started....
Today (March 30th) at just after 2 PM local time, an F-16 from the 421st Fighter Squadron went down on the western edge of the Great Salt Lake, hitting Carrington Island. The pilot ejected safely, and was recovered by a local Airevac helicopter. According to local news, the pilot was treated for minor injuries and is being debriefed by his superiors.
Here is the local news story:

The pictured aircraft is NOT the accident aircraft. |

Hi VPRGUY,
Thanks for the heads up. I now also posted an article on this at http://www.f-16.net/news_article1725.html
Anyone has any details yet on the <a href="f-16_aircraft_database.html">serial number</a> of the jet?
BTW, here's a <a href="http://cbs5.com/topstories/topstories_story_089193419.html" target="_blank">video of the wreckage from the crash site</a>.

So, Scott.... how, uh, would you go about building a nuclear weapon from the crater of an F-16 crash? Purely theoretical of course..... but please be specific. Thanks!
And can you PM me with the Hill jets you wanted? I can't find the message you sent a while back :-/ |

Just wanted to post in here and say that 2115 was my jet. I was the DCC on it for a few months. I am quite happy to hear that her ejection seat ops checked good, but it really hurts to see the video of her strewn across the salt flats. Thank you Afterburnerdecalsscott for the photo of her. I have been trying to find pics of her online but the only one that I was able to find was from when she was in Moody, and since I am now in Langley, I havent been able to get many from my buds back in the 421.
To the end of an [Link pending approval] Cheers! |
