Right, I know you didn't. In fact your link illustrates very well that it is indeed from a video game (and thank you for that). The previous link, if you read it, makes it seem like it was a real aircraft, or a serious real life design, which it is not.

I just can't see Mobius One flying in that. I'm sure you've seen this before, but here's the real Talon ( Northrop T-38 ).

The wyvern does seem to be more of an imajinative "Frankenstein" rather than a practical fighter, but you cant rule out its posibilities. It could function as a close range air superiority fighter.

Having looked at the Wyvern, the Talon, and the Switchblade, I have concluded that the Wyvern looks like the most realistic (and practical) of the three.

Maybe I lost my sense of humor, but why in the world would someone try to mate an S-37 Berkut with an F-22 Raptor?

This thread looks like it's belonging to the sinodefence.com forum, not f-16.net. Evil or Very Mad That's the place if you want to see more images like these!

On a second thought this thread would look nice in the off-topic section of the forum Wink

I just finished Ace Combat 04 last night.

To me, that means, all planes, all paint schemes, all weapons.

Dang that was tough to actually keep up the will to do that. I must have played through the game 9 times. But as soon as I got all of the X-02s, it was back to regular mode for me. No sense in bashing my head into the wall for no reason. Wink

Personally, I don't think a wing design like this could work.

And if you want to discuss the aircraft of anime ie: Yuke-Kaze or the YF-21 Omega-1 from Macross Plus, please please please look me up in the off topic forums.

Well to add more to the conspiracy theorists....

WTF is the YF-24??? We KNOW this exists but have no idea what it is!

Andy

p.s. Known to exist as a recently released test pilots autobiography states quite clearly in the list of aircraft he has flown the "YF-24" and it has been confirmed NOT to be a typo.

From what I can remember, the F-24 designation was a cover name for one of the captured/defected MiGs that the US has. If you search at designations systems website, it shows that it is the designation for some classified air craft. That would lead me to believe that it is a Russian or Chinese fighter that is being evaluated by us.

Just a S.W.A.G though.

well the test pilot in question in Col Joseph A. Lanni

what articles about it here in the UK guess that its some form of full scale pilotted UCAV demonstrator based on either the X-36 or SHARC.

Has anyone ever heard of or seen a picture of an experemental plane called the X-02? Not the old one from like twenty years ago, the one I'm talking about is new and has backwards folding wings. If anyone has a pictures of it that would be even better.

I've heard it, seen it, flown it. It's codename is the Wyvern. Best plane anyone can think of, in my opinion. It designed to replace the F/A-18E Super Hornet. It's a cross between a Hornet (obviously) a Black Widow (YF-23) and the SU-37 Terminator. It's primary missles are XLAA pheonix (the ones that the Tomcat uses). I doubt that the government will take it into serious consideration because, since the wings fold (as we both know) that would be a huge reduction in fuel supply. Also, the two downward-facing wings under the rear engines basically defeat the purpose of it being a STEALTH air-superiority fighter. Those are the only things that have me skeptical about it. Put simply, yeah I heard about it. Idea

Yeah, right. Did I tell you that I saw Elvis walking down the road in front of my house this morning?
