Does anyone know what the official height limit is for a fighter pilot, and does it vary from plane to plane? Thanks in advance!

it varies by what type of ejection seat is in the aircraft. I once was up for a ride in a 16 while on tdy. the flight doc (which was new) quoted me the height limit for the aces II seat was 6'0''. I knew he was wrong. I am 6'7''. Our Lt. at the time came back to me later and told me it was 6'5'' or 77'' just like shaft said. They can give you a waiver if it is for an incetive flight or orientation ride. Trust me. I went through the DD form database and found the form that is made just for that. Unfortunatley it was to little to late i missed my chance because they said they had a flight suit for me but it was in the wash and they didnt want to promise me a ride and find out it didnt fit so they said they would get me one when we got back (BS!!!!!!!!) I bugged our Lt. for weeks and months till he left our squadron for the ride he owed me. Never got it. Now I'm in a squadron with no buses. Hopefully with the Brac we may get some but doubtful Bang Head

A fellow flight test engineer was pretty tall (not sure how tall); as a result he was not allowed to be placed on F-16 flight orders, so he was "stuck" with the F-4.

Does 5'9 qualify?

Also this is a concern to me: My eye sight is sort of weird.

So this is how it goes, whenever I goto the doctor, with my left eye I can read all the way to Number 9 on the picture, but with my right eye, Im sort of stuck at Line 6-7. Is that a disqualifier. Also this is not permanent, Ive noticed that the longer I keep my left eyes closed the better the image gets, meaning I can read farther.

Also know that when both of my eyes are open, I see as if both were like 20/20. (perfect). So I just want to hear what you guys think of that, I will ask a optometrist later, just wanna hear your guys experience on that.

Im not a flight doc, but as far as I know vision can be waivered as long as you can qualify for Photorefractive Keratectomy or PRK corrective vision surgery. I dont know how hard the waiver is to get, but I'd assume you need to have 20/20 in both eyes to qualify for UPT...maybe somebody else can confirm that for you.
