OK, I think I could stomach the Fishbed, but the darn Flogger has GOT to be a FOXTROTTING BRAVO on maintenance, let alone gas ! I mean, it's a jet, so it easily breaks the bank for 99% of people right there, but add on the swing wings and the hard to find parts and D@MN!!!!!
Tell ya what - I'd love to get ahold of an F-4 and a MiG-21 for some airshow re-enactment dogfights ! Of course, the fun part is finding someone to fly "Red Air" in the Fishbed ! |

| Hell I'd fly red air, are you kidding me! MiG Alley also has some, and they're based at Stead as well. |

Yeah parrothead, get an F-4D or E. We'll get you and maybe JR to fly the Rhino. Habu could fly the Fishbed, and I'd take my Recon Rhino out to be jumped on a recce mission. Of course, the fastest Rhino in the fleet shouldn't have a whole helluva lot of trouble out-running that 21.
Just clear my 6 most Riki Tik! I'll jink and pop flares!

| It would be nice if someone could get a hold of an old ME-109 and a Spitfire and have a battle of Britain reenactment |

JR & TC,
Just a little turkey shoot before turkey day - as TC says, Beers and MiGs were made to be pounded !
Raptorman, I've seen both airplanes at airshows and I agree it would be cool, but the thing of it is that a lot of us grew up on Phantoms and Thuds and SLUFs and BUFFs. I think it would just be great if we could have TC come in in a Recce Rhino, followed by a pursuing MiG or two, let the Double Ugly and the Zipper deal with the MiGs while the Thud takes out the SAM sites and the SLUF and Super Tweet come in to deal with the ground targets ! Now THAT'S my kind of civvie airshow team! Of course, if we had all the $$$ in the world, we'd have to bring in a BUFF or two to carpet bomb the rest of what would've been left !!!!! |

MiG-23 looks dead sexy in various paint schemes. I guess anything is possible with money. Just make sure it has a world class ejection seat. ( can you stuff a K-36 in there? ) |

Now, that WOULD be a Sierra Hotel start to the demo! Picture this...
TC is on his "photo run". I start from the show crowd's 6, at about 75 ft off the deck, going .98 Mach. Make a pass over the field, and scare the living Sierra out of the crowd, and then be followed in hot pursuit by one or two Fishbeds.
You guys follow in the "armed" Rhino, and have your way with the bandits.
Oh yeah, and Elp is right. The 23 does have some good looking paint schemes. My personal fav is the Olive on Sand scheme. The Brown on Tan on White looks good too.
Hope everyone has properly digested by this time. Happy Turkey Day!

I think I'd rather go over to thunder city myself ..
But what would I choose... a 20ft off the deck run through Canyons in a Bucc or a verticle power climb to 30,000ft and then a supersonic dash in a Lightning????
Decisions decisions |

Oh heck yeah...They've got quite a collection down in Cape Town. The last (to my knowledge) Lightning, Buc, and Hunter still flying.
I'd have to go with the Lightning myself. Boff, would you happen to know how many Pounds a ride in the Lightning would cost?
