| Anyone know who is giving these, I tried a year ago to find away to take them as a civilian looking for UPT in the guard but I could find anywhere that was giving them. |

| From my knowledge, most USAF bases will handle these. A recruiter should be able to assist you. |

| Contact your local AFROTC unit... they'll have someone there who will help you. |

1) Call the recruiter, tell them youhave a college degree and are looking for an officer commision in the Active Duty Air Force... they'll have you in front of an AFOQT PDQ The only problem is they'll behouding youabout enlistin... just tell them youchanged yourmind and are thinking guard instead.
2) Call a guard base, ask for personell and they'll hook you up.
3) Call AFROTC at a local college/univ. Theres a website for finding where you can take theBAT, and if they offer the BAT they most likely offer the AFOQT as well. |

| Ok I will give it a go. Just a couple more questions. Im an ERAU guy which has actually hurt me in civilan flying but may help with the guard. Ive got 3000 hrs with 2000 of those in various civilian jets. Working for a regional now, and Ive got no heath problems and 10/20 vision. Mostly [Link pending approval] is that im 26 and i dont have alot of time to screw around I think most units need you in UPT by 30, so im getting alittle old. Can i get this stuff done in time to be in UPT? |

Plan on one year to take the tests, gather transcripts, letters of recommendation and submit a package. Plan on another year (if selected) before going to AMS (~basic training) and aother 2 or 3months before UPT. Shake a leg and get on it, you can get in before 30!

Ok, I'm set to take the afoqt in late [Link pending approval] together some letters of rec. Should be able to get some from some former 15 and 16 guys at [Link pending approval] Any suggestions to help an old bas*rd like me get an interview?
And I've got an FAA class 1 med for work, but when would I get sent for the AF class 1 if a guard unit picked me up. And how many guys get axed on it? |

| For all you taking/taken the AFOQT and BAT; don't worry about them. The AFOQT is important but don't go nuts studying over it, but do some studying before taking it. As for the BAT, it may very well be the biggest cluster f*#ck in the AF, not a very efficient or accurate depiction of the potential AF pilot. Do your best but don't let either test discourage you. I have seen 2Lts go to UPT with a PCSM of 8, 12 4, 6...you get the point, it doesn't matter when it becomes to those tests, just pass them. |
