The AMA we use has a concrete head on it, Pumpkin is right there is no monitoring equipment mounted but the T.O. still shows a plug to hook up to the rail. The AMA uses the same body as the inert AIM 9 they just swap the concrete head for a captive seeker head. The nose of the concrete head has a neoprene coating on it too.
I remember when we were still testing the LAU 129 rails at Eglin before they went operational, we loaded an AMA on a rail and locked it down. Well we were still use to the AIM 9 rails taht had only 1 set of locking lugs on it, we only locked the back ones on the 129 rail. When the a/c (#84-1285) did its takeoff roll the AMA actually slid off the rail and bounced down the runway like a runaway torpedo. The fins were toast .
