On F-16s and F-22s the pylon/fuel tank jettison together, leaving a 'clean' wing station.

The exception to this is the 600 gal tanks, for the Viper. The 600 gal. tank pylon is carted to jet the tanks away sperately. It's sway'd down just like a MK.84.

I have a question. What's the ferry configuration? Is it 2 AIM-120s paired with the fuel tank for each pylon, and if so, are the AIM-120s capable of being fired in that configuration?

With the external stores what I've heard is for the ferry config it's 4 600 gallon tanks each with two AIM-120s that are supposedly for carrying only. Does anybody know if the F-22 has flown with the four tanks yet and if so any pictures?

Thanks.
