We are learning air and space right now and we have to do a essay on a plane or fihgter jet. I picked the F/A-18E/F super hronet and i wanted some real opinions from real pilots tat have flown the super hornet. I know i know , i could've just used the internet recources but some people on the internet put lies and so i wanted real ifo first hand and not second. I've already tried asking the guys at simhq.com but they pilots were busy. So I would really appreciate if anyone has ever flown or matained a F/A-18E/F super hornet.

You might try Smorisso - I think he's a Super Hornet driver and he loves his jet ! |

Try the forums of Airwarrors.com it's almost all-Navy there; some Vets some current pilots, some future hopefuls...
Just make sure they know what you're there for. They're pretty Damned cocky there...
As for my opinion...
Just from what I've heard and my formulated opinions: The Legacy Hornets can outdo the Super Hornets in raw head-to-head performance. The F-14 that it replaces is much more capable and had too much potential left in it to be cancelled by Cheney when he was SECDEF.
As a good Friend of mine once said: "Sometimes, the good things cost a little extra, deal with it." |

| What would you like to know? I don't get here very often, but I'll try to help. Fonz over at simhq is usually better at providing info in easy to understand terms. I just tend to correct inaccuracies whenever I see them pop up. J/K. Careful on airwarriors, there's only about three Hornet guys on that entire board, and alot of cocky high school and college kids and guys just starting out flight school. On second thought, bring it on over there, I'd like to get on those know-it-alls when they screw it away. Have a good one! |

Hey smorisso, well I wanted to know since you're a Super hornet pilot. What do you think of the plane, alot of people on the internet say tat the plane is really bad cause of its speed and range. But since there are so many lies out there, i just wanted to know if any of the rumours in the internet is true.
And do you think the Super Hornet can replace the Tomcat? |

| I don't know much about naval aviation, but I do know that the f-14s left NAS Oceana in the last year, they were replaced by the f-18... |

| Swanee, so you are saying that there are no more Tomcats at NAS Oceana? Because if you are, sh*t, I was suppose to go there this July for a birthday present and do you know anywhere else where they have Tomcats? |
