Hi this is Cadet Glass. We are in the process of getting a powered aerobatic team started here at USAFA. It is going before senior leadership soon. If you are a viper driver, a grad, or a high time pilot and would be willing to write us a letter to include in the proposal please let me know. Thanks. Fast neat [Link pending approval] Very Happy

Hey Cadet Glass,

Unfortunately, I am none of the above (unless you consider 18+ hrs in Cessnas and Pipers high Wink ), but did have a quick question for you.. what class and squadron are you in?

F.N.A.F.G.G. Cool

Two Fine, Two-Nine!!!

I was a SMACK who went through Recognition as a Black Panther in the class of '04. That year, whenever we had a round robin session, we were known as one of the toughest squadrons in Fourth Group; even had one cadet from another squadron black out when he ran into a wall at top speed from disorientation or exhaustion or something. Shocked

Was your relative from 29 at the Zoo during the 2000-2001 school year?

Go Fourth and Conquer!! Wink

You might want to talk to the AOG, or any of the current pilot's down at the field; they may be able to point you in the right direction if they can't help you directly. Talk to your AOC also, as well as you MTL, and maybe even send something up the chain to the Comm (a bunch of names of supporting cadets would definately help if you go this route...).

Yeah, I was thinking about starting a flying team when I was going to Arizona State... Then I made this list:

PROs:
 • Might help me get a pilot slot
 • Raybans look cool on Ponch AND Maverick
 • sounds nifty
CONs:
 • I didn't know how to fly
 • Beer
 • Chicks
 • Ski club parties
 • ROTC parties
 • Beer
 • Chicks
(heh heh... I loved ROTC)

Cylon, great list!!!

I made the stupid mistake Shocked of trying to wrestle a Firstie after he came back from hundred's night (100 days till graduation, they would go out and get trashed in celebration, we would 'decorate' their rooms or sometimes hide their door (either the physical door, or camoflauge their alcove so they couldn't find their room Twisted Evil )).
He truley had no limiting control over his motor functions!!

Raptor, as a last resort, you congressman or senator may have some input in stuff like an aerobatics team. But whatever the case, please let us know how your pursuit of this is going (when you find the time).
