The J-20 is more or less an F-22 rival, now the F-35 seems to have some compitition. The Chinese are making an undeniable push to become a military player on par at least with the Russians. What is next a stratigic bomber, maybe a scaled up J-20, since the Chinese have obviously begged, borrowed or stole the F-22/35 design for it's next generation aircraft.
The US has canceled F-22 production and is likely to curtail the F-35, is it possible that a 6th gen US fighter be pushed up in light of these revelations. Two countries that are not pro US building adversary AC has not happened since WW2.

Right, and you can state this all definitively based on the vast amounts of specification data that the Chinese have put out there. Moreover its not clear how much the chinese did or did not steal from a blurry set of photos.
Most (reputable) analysts Ive seen suggest that the J-20 is not even a dogfighter, but more an long range air and ground interdictor. |
