Nope. SOME Canadians are stupid - just like the rest of us. Not Different at all. By Gosh look at some of the entries on this forum.
The Canadian Press supporting the Opposition Party in Canada have a knack for recycling rubbish to make their daily rags sell - or not. However to see the endless headlines screaming about the F-35 and nothing in particular has grown stale - much like an ARROW flight in the Great WHITE UP! It is just another reason/excuse to bag/diss the F-35. Whatever sells newspapers or toilet paper - whatever. I would guess most Canadians are sick of the junk news otherwise a recent election in Canada would have had a different outcome? No? Hmmm.... |

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. The Canadians' piddling order of 60 planes is a lot more troublesome for the program than it's worth, and I would love to see it canceled so the rest of us could enjoy watching the ensuing farce. An attempt to bring back the Arrow would be most entertaining. |

I would have to agree. I would have expected nearly 100 airframes a la RAAF. They once had nearly 150 F-18s. 60 offers shockingly low fleet resiliency for a large country.
As for Kopp's Super-Vark thingummy, at least the airframes existed. To quote Forrest Gump, that's all I've got to say about that. |

Maybe APA can take up the ARROW cause?
No need. They've already done the hard work on the crazy street Air power proposals. This Johnny come-lately from Canada is kidding himself.

If only Cheney hadn't ordered the F-14D's scrapped, they could have recouped the APG-71's. /sarcasm
For all the marvel, the YF-12A outclassed the Avro Arrow and there isn't nearly the belly ache about it.
And realistically consider modern designs like the F-22. Each engine is much more suited to supersonic cruise, weighs 800 pounds less, and supports TVC which allow remarkable agility at awesome flight levels. And the F-22 has a much more potent missile capability. And the F-22 has much better sensory. And the F-22 is digital. And the F-22 is multirole. And the F-22 has more range. And the F-22 is air-refuelable. And the F-22 is less prone to landing gear failure. And the F-22 is stealth. |

I like the NAVALised RAPTor concept from APA meself. Simple as bro... AND of course any other 'Navalise a NON NAVAL aircraft' idea comes in a distant second. But chuck it into FSX and 'away we go' bro.
If I remember correctly, the nose gear doors doubled as transformable canards on landing for their F-22N concept... |

Let's replace the F-18s that replaced the Voodoos that replaced the Arrow, with the Arrow! While we're at it, we can replace our Leopard 2s with Shermans, and our C-7s with Enfields and Stens! Think of the money we will save!

| Maybe someone should ask that infantry officer which he would rather have: a Sherman tank, or a guy with modern anti-tank weapon and a device that shows him were every friendly and unfriendly is second to second. |
