Can't find a better place to put this, so here goes. On September 1, my wife and I will celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary, and I want to pay tribute to her for putting up with me for so long. She is the finest specimen of human you can possibly imagine.
Don't bother to count, there are 50. |

Congratulations on your 50th! I am guessing it wasn't total smileys for all those years, but it's the end result that counts. I am at 17 years now and have a long way to go to match you!
Hope you have something special planned.
Best Regards, |

| Thanks, 1st... . Right, Joe - rough spots here and there. Plans include a reception and a two week trip to the west coast to visit old favorite places. |

Congratulations.
I'm at 41 years now and don't hear as well as I used to...
which I think helps our relationship.

| Thanks, Outlaw. I think the humor you show here must have a positive effect on your marriage. My wife has a terrific sense of humor and always made me laugh at lot, right from the first date. |

Congratulations to you and your bride, John!
I am willing to bet she's telling everyone that you are the best ever as well.
I have 8 more to go before we reach our 50th. If we get that far, I'll probably keep her.
One problem we have is she likes to talk during *****! Sometimes she calls me from the motel.

I hope Mrs. Fiskerwad doesn't see this, you might not make eight more.

Our favorite TV skit (I think from the Carol Burnett Show) was where the wife suspected the hubby of cheating and decided to get back at him. When he gets home she calls out, "Is that you, Bernard" (hubby's name was NOT Bernard).
So, for 40+ years whenever I come in the door from work, she calls out, "Is that you, Bernard"? (MY name is NOT Bernard)

| With her sense of humor, eight more years should be a cinch. You're a lucky man. |

I definitely married UP, and I don't hesitate to tell her that.
Here is the key to longevity in any relationship, BOTH parties must have a sense of humor. It does not always have to be in sync but it must be there.
(Most of her friends tell her that marrying me was supreme proof of her sense of humor. I am unsure exactly what that means?)
Looking forward to seeing your next announcement in ten years!

Congrats John Will.
Most couples don't make it past 1 year, much less 50, so it's a testament to the strength of your relationship. |
