Hello all,

Anyone know where the bunch of "HL" Vipers are heading - currently at Moròn AB, Spain.

As I see it they are "training" configured with captive AMRAAMs, AIM-9s, AMDs and even some old AAQ-14 target pods!!

Cheers,

Henrik.

Do you know how many transitted Moron besides the 3 shown? Because they could be augumenting 31FW as seen in the past, pending potential action against Syria under Nato umbrella?

I suppose it's possible, though I would actually recommend deployment of F-22s for action against Syria. The Syrian AF and ADF are not a joke and could inflict serious losses on an ill-prepared NATO/EU force.

Clearly the AF need look no further than the forums on F-16.net for their Syria OPLAN.

Clearly.... Laughing Laughing

It's clear from anyone who looks at the range of figures that Syria's IADS is large and well-equipped. Their air force has a large number of aircraft, some of reasonable quality. It's a potent threat, and not one that should be left to the Euros.

It's certainly no Libya...but then, it's also no Iran.

You're right (in a way), I daresay their air defenses are more capable than Iran's. Iran does not have multiple confirmed S-300 units.

Although there seems to be no appetite for ousting the Syria Govt - just looking at the map you would see that if leaders were very serious about ending the current situation - as far as an air campaign is concerned geographically it would be ideal. Air Defenses or not all you have to do is look at the map. 360 degrees!

Hi Niels,

Yes, I have seen there´s been a LOT of activity down there as of late!! They were on an exercise in the region, I was told.

Cheers,

Henrik.
