Thought it quite interesting!
I'm not sure if that was a ballistic maneuver or making use of adverse yaw
I thought it impressive, nonetheless...
Amazing a pilot in the Phantom could pull this off! |

| One could also contemplate if it was a completely unintended out-of-control maneuver in the heat of battle from which a truly skilled pilot was able to regain control over and somehow effectively exploit a positive result? In that case, a proper fighter jock could simply walk away from the aircraft upon parking when debriefing his rear officer by saying... that was quite a back flip I made huh? |

No pilot worth his piddle pack, would ever admit to this.
This is America man, home of cable television. Besides, history holds only so many "dogfights". The Discovery Channel needs material, so if this is a tall tale, more power to them.
It was on TV dammit, it HAS to be real... |
