As a hopeless Viper junkie as well as a pretty accomplished baker, I had to laugh when I saw the following photo on Code One. It's a 440-pound F-16 cake to celebrate Poland's fifth anniversary of its Block 52+ Vipers. I know what I want for MY birthday cake this year! |
| Description: |
| Attendees at the Polish F-16 fifth anniversary celebration at Poznan were offered cups of traditional soldiers' pea soup and pieces of a 440-pound, F-16-shaped cake. |

I was on the spot. I've tasted a bit of that bad bird.. If it would be as tasty as deadly.. these people would be in 7 heaven by now! And they are.. Yummy! |

The "Fighter Mafia" would be proud. I can see it now, all of them sitting around a drawing board and one says "Hey this jet would also make a cool cake!"

| I grew up around my Polish grandmother's friends, whom we dubbed the "Polish mafia." We had makowiec galore, but no deadly F-16 cake! |

Pretty impressive cake … fill the 370s with Wild Turkey or Jeremiah Weed and let’s have a party! |

Honestly, I have to say that I wouldn't be surprised if the whole Jeremiah Weed thing wasn't one whole big marketing ploy...
This is taken from JW's website:
"In the 70s, two fighter pilots discovered Jeremiah Weed after surviving a plane crash during a routine mission. Ever since then, every USAF fighter squadron has a lounge where the pilots sometimes gather for a cold beer after the flying day is over. Every refrigerator in each of those lounges contains a chilled bottle of a 100-proof product called Jeremiah Weed. For special occasions, and sometimes for no reason at all, someone will bring out the Weed, fill a shot glass for each person present, and propose a toast."
It's obviously one of those romanticized legends that sounds better than the reality, apparently! As for me, I'll take a Coke Cherry Zero on the rocks! |

Actually Jeremiah Weed taste like sh*t, and the last time I drank Wild Turkey was at the British GP somewhere around 90-93, but I liked it!!!!! All I remember is that I bought my wife a pair of Ferrari knickers?

As a victim of many Wild Turkey induced memory-loss episodes,
And damn, Ferrari will slap their brand name on anything. |
